Simple Healthy Avocado kale smoothie

Avocado kale smoothie is my new find. Recently a friend brought me a bunch of unripe avocados from Mexico, and fortunately, they ripened almost at the same time. We tried to eat as much as we could, but we still had some left.

I did not want to waste any, so I thought of different ways to utilize them before they went bad. That is when this delicious avocado kale smoothie recipe came up. I made it and even froze some for the next day.

This avocado, kale, Green smoothie is creamy, smooth, and nutritious. It is also simple to make. You will need a good blender, only five ingredients, and spend only 5 or fewer minutes to make it.

This green smoothie is full of vital nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It is also great for detoxifying and cleansing the body naturally. Make plenty on the weekends and freeze some for the rest of the week. They can serve as an excellent quick breakfast on the go. Besides, you can carry it to work for your mid-day snack.

What do I need for this Avocado kale smoothie?


Any variety of kale, old or baby tender leaves will do. Just make sure they are soft and clean. Please be careful when adding Kales, they tend to hold some sand which can be so unpleasant to your teeth. Sort and clean them even when you buy the pre-washed ones. You will need One cup of fresh kale.


Buy good quality ripe avocados depending on the quantity you intend to make. Do not buy overripe ones as those tend to go bad quickly and may also not taste fresh. One medium-sized avocado is enough for this recipe.


These are readily available no matter the time of the year. I prefer using very ripe bananas for this recipe because they are sweeter. You will not need to add any sweetener.

Chop two bananas and freeze for half an hour before adding them to the rest of the ingredients. You can do this before making the smoothie.

Lemon juice. (Optional)

This juice helps to prevent the avocado from turning brown. You will need a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Plant milk

Any plant milk can is good. It adds the creaminess of the smoothie and makes it easy to blend. I used one and a half cup of almond milk in mine, but you are welcome to use any that you like.

How to make the smoothie

Add all the ingredients in the blender. Place the kale at the base, add the rest of the ingredients, and finally add the milk.

Blend until it is smooth to the consistency you like and serve.

Creamy Avocado, kale smoothie

  • 1 medium ripe avocado
  • ⅔ Cup almond milk
  • 1 cup kale
  • 2 ripe frozen bananas (chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice (Optional)


  1. Place all the ingredients in the blender. At the base put kale, then add bananas, avocado, almond milk, and lemon juice. Puree on high speed until you obtain a creamy consistency.
  2. Enjoy.


You can add a sweetener to the smoothie if you want to.
